  • Welcome Dr. Joseph V. Carmichael as our new Pastor

    We are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Joseph V. Carmichael, as our new Bi-Vocational Pastor.  Dr. Carmichael comes to Auburn, AL from North Point, AL.  He and his wife, Betsy, have six sons.  Dr. Carmichael is an ordained Baptist Minister with 20 years of experience and a board certified chaplain, working as a clinical chaplain in hospital and hospice settings.  He has service in pastoral ministry in Alabama, Mississippi, South Carolina and Kentucky.

    Dr. Carmichael is a respected biblically and theologically driven minister with an expository preaching approach.  He has a people-centered approach to leading and a contagious approach to congregational culture and strategy.

    Education and Credentials:

    • Doctor of Philosophy, Church History and Historical Theology, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY
    • Master of Divinity, Pastoral Ministry and Missions, Reformed Theological Seminary, Jackson, MS
    • Master of Business Administration, Marketing, University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL
    • Bachelor of Science, Accounting, University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL
    • Clinical Pastor, Board Certified Chaplain and ordained Baptist Minister

     

    Dr. Carmichael has numerous published works, his most recent being "A call to Repentance: Anne Steele's Hymns in Response to War" - Birmingham Theological Journal vol. 1, issue 1, December 2023
