What are some things you can do for your church and community during this COVID-19 crisis?

    1. PRAY—
    • Above all, we should pray.
    • We should pray for those individuals and families who either are or will be affected by this virus and for their healing.
    • We should pray for the doctors and medical professionals who are on the front lines caring for those who contract coronavirus.
    • We should pray for medical researchers who are diligently working to create a vaccine for this virus.
    • We should pray for our leaders in office, including the president, vice president, governors, and local officials as they guide us through this moment.
    • We should pray for our teachers and educators who are having to teach our children without a classroom
    • We should pray for our children who are being homeschooled and don’t understand why they can’t see their friends.
    • We should pray for the church to respond with thoughtfulness, wisdom, and love.
    • We should pray for the continued advance of the gospel even as this trying moment continues to unfold.
    1. REMEMBER OUR ELDERLY
    • Many of our elderly are widowed and are home alone with no one to talk to. Check in with older adults and neighbors. Send a text or email, phone them, or leave a note on their front door – whatever they prefer. Just let them know you’re thinking about them, and ask if they need anything. Offer to pick up groceries for them and leave it on their door step. If you’re cooking, make a little extra and offer a dish to them; put it in a disposable container, use a disinfectant wipe to sanitize the outside of the container, and leave a thoughtful note.
    1. Consider the participating in the “Park and Pray” at EAMC hospital. It’s happening twice a day in the morning and evening around shift change.
    2. Stay at home and practice social distancing! We know its hard to do sometimes but the more diligent we are about this, the faster we can get back to our normal church meetings!
    3. Use this quarantine time to focus on your spouse, your marriage, and your children. Help draw your family closer to God with daily prayers, Bible studies, and family discussions.
    4. Take a walk outside and thank God for all His beautiful creations.
    5. Keep in contact! SS teachers check on your class members weekly. Deacons check on your deacon families weekly. Members check on your pastor, ss teachers, choir minister, deacons, other members. Call or send letters to everyone in our congregation.
    6. Look for opportunities to minister to our community during this time! BE THE CHURCH!
